Joe & Cathy's wedding

Hope you all had a great weekend! We had the absolute pleasure of playing at Cathy & Joe's wedding last night. Their big day was at The Byre at Inchyra; it's a venue we know well (as we're on their recommended supplier list!) and it really is one of the finest spaces for a ceilidh that we know. It has an excellent sunken dance floor (complete with a brilliant in-house lighting rig!) which is perfect for a great ceilidh. We've played at this place many times over the years, and it seems to get better and better each time.

Cathy & Joe opted for a traditional waltz for the first dance, which was a really beautiful start to the night. Once the ceilidh got going, the dance floor was packed all night! Here's me calling the Dashing White Sergeant.

The bride and groom were keen for ceilidh all-night, which was really fun and energetic for the whole set. Of course, we offer a DJ set as part of any night as standard, but are equally as happy to play ceilidh all night should you want it - as Cathy & Joe's crowd definitely did!

The night finished with the traditional Orcadian Strip the Willow and Auld Lang Syne - the Orcadian was a huge horseshoe-shape that took over the whole dancing space!

Great to meet-up again with Zöe at Photos by Zöe too - she always gets some great photos!

Next week, we're at two fantastic venues for some more weddings: Guardswell Farm in Perthshire, and Springkell in Lockerbie - always fantastic places for weddings.
